James W. Martin is a lawyer in St. Petersburg, Florida with over 46 years of law practice experience. He has achieved the highest lawyer ratings on Martindale, Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and Avvo.

Jim Martin attended the Georgia Institute of Technology as an electrical engineering student (1967-69) and Stetson University as a mathematics student (1969-71) and a law student (1971-74). He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Stetson University and a Juris Doctor degree in Law from Stetson University College of Law.

In addition to his private law practice, Jim Martin’s legal work has included:

  • Teaching contract drafting and law practice management as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Stetson University College of Law (2009-2020)

  • Serving on the Probate Rules Committee of The Florida Bar (1990-96)
  • Serving as chair of the St. Petersburg Bar Association business law section, real property law section, and probate law section
  • Serving the Salvador Dali Museum as founding member/trustee/executive committee over 40 years (1980-2021)
  • Becoming Board Certified in Real Estate Law by The Florida Bar (2015-2021)
